Charities and Philanthropy:
I am a proud volunteer of the Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation (ASRL–www.andreriveroflife.org), which since 2000 has helped over 7,000 family members in a 24-hour turn around time with funds in excess of 3.7 million dollars. Founder Valerie Sobel and her staff are especially proud of the business plans they have developed in cooperation with hospitals and other institutions across the US to ensure critically ill children and their families are looked out for financially, emotionally and spiritually.
Dharmata, the company behind Green with Music, also represents www.wherevertheneed.org, which provides sanitary restroom facilities to developing communities throughout the world. To get involved, check out the web site.
–Sometimes it is most difficult to be kind to oneself. However, a Kundalini yoga practice is a great way to start! I have been following Gurutej’s classes since 2001, and recommend her highly whether you’re starting your practice or have been doing yoga for years. Following the classes, there is a social time with chai tea, and lots of discussion about charities and other things going on in the world. Check out her web sites for more!
(more coming soon!)
