Over the summer of 2024, I experimented with writing television treatments just for fun…and sent my first treatment to the U.S. Copyright Office and the Writer’s Guild to safeguard it and get it out there! “Ladies of the Canyon,” a spin-off of “Daisy Jones & The Six.”

The story is more connected with the series than the book. The story picks up in 1998 not long after Billy Dunne submits his daughter Julia Dunne’s documentary about “DJATS” to a VH1-type channel, which picks it up for broadcast on July 4th weekend. Fan-favorite characters like Simone Jackson are broadened, and the story moves forward with how Julia and her GenX and Millennial friends and peers working behind the scenes deal with the rapidly changing music, television, publishing, and tech industries. Later in the series, Julia’s musically talented daughter forms her own groundbreaking all-female band.
